We have been targeted by a scam which uses our outstanding reputation and name fraudulently to obtain payment from unsuspecting members of the public. We understand that this scam takes the following form:

• Unidentified criminals purport to sell wanted animals, such as kittens, puppies or horses, to members of the public, by means of various websites. On payment of the purchase price, the criminals then promise to arrange for the animal to be delivered to the buyer.
• The same criminals then use different email addresses, but similar to those used by us, to demand further payment from the buyer to cover the animal’s transport, veterinary and/or insurance arrangements, which, on payment, they subsequently confirm.
• The delivery of the animals, purportedly sold, never takes place.

We have nothing to do with this scam whatsoever.

Our business deals only with the transport of horses to and from the U.K. and nothing else. Any arrangements with us are confirmed both by email (using our “@equine-logistics-company.com email address) and by telephone. Furthermore, we will always send invoices to you by post before expecting payment. If you have any doubts about any arrangements you have made, please telephone us on tel: 01798 867 301.

This scam is a criminal offence, which we have reported to the Police (U.K. crime reference numbers: 649/17th Nov (Merseyside Police); and 982/21/11/11 (West Sussex Police)) and to the U.K National Fraud Authority. Whilst we deeply regret this situation, we cannot pay any compensation to parties who are victims of this fraud.
